| A rocking recliner
for indoor or occasional outdoor use. It is made from steam-bent hardwood (oak, ash, elm or beech)
with stainless steel knock down fittings. The wood is left natural and unfinished,
but can be finished with a colourless, penetrating sealer/fungicide on request.
Cushions can be provided as an optional extra. Two more wood bends can be added to
make a wider SLING for two people. Health experts agree that the relaxing position
on SLING with raised feet is good for the circulation. It rocks very gently as you
breathe! SLING won the
Designers Institute of NZ Best Award 2002, for Best of Product Design/Furniture. The
judges' comment:
"Sling can be justifiably
described as iconic, elegant and resonant with the qualities of great technical skill and
great design. It has echoes of a Pacific ethos with the simplicity of form that
belies the intellect and skill required to create it." |
