latest development in David's line of Body Rafts. The form of this was worked out on a computer
3D drawing programme before being developed into a full sized prototype. It is designed as
a rocking chaise longue for either indoor or outdoor use, on the terrace or in the garden.
To lie on the Body Raft is to
float into a fantasy of rocking on the sea, suspended in a hammock, yet supported on a
rigid structure. It is timeless yet contemporary, and contains universal nautical forms
from throughout history.
This Body Raft was exhibited in
Salone Satellite at the Milan Furniture Fair in April 2001 and received considerable
attention from press, manufacturers and retailers/specifiers. As a result it is now being
manufactured and distributed worldwide by Cappellini in Italy. |
