“Fish traps are called hinaki by Maori, though often the name is used specifically for an eel trap. They were made from woven vines, some in amazingly beautiful forms. The first light I ever made in 1995 was also shaped like this and called Hinaki. Our kitsets significantly reduce freighting, which is one of our ways of doing what we can to help preserve our beautiful sea and land environments” - David Trubridge
