In 2008 Vipp the renowned Danish manufacturer of stylish and quality rubbish bins held two special charity auctions. They asked a number of well-known international designers to “do something” with their classic foot pedal opening bin. The results were shown in an exhibition and auctioned off at the end. This is David's entry for the Lisbon event. He worked from the premise that in a future ideal world there will be no such thing as rubbish – all waste will be used. So the bin has the words Zero Waste fixed around it and is turned into a plant pot. The lid can be used as a bird bath. Amy Lynch, who worked on this project is dyslexic and didn't notice that she had put the S the wrong way round, so the lettering read Zero Wazte!
